Pre-Apprenticeship

​

The Hollywood Production Assistant Program (HPAp)​ is a registered pre-apprenticeship program with the DAS, and is offered in two distinct parts. The first part is career discovery while the second part offers hands-on job experience.

PART 1:

​

AME-CPE (Arts, Media & Entertainment Career Pathways Exploration) ​​​​​is the first step of the pre-apprenticeship program and focuses primarily on sustainable career discovery and pathways, in industries such as:

​​

• Digital Media (production)

• Education | Healthcare

• IT | Cybersecurity

• Construction | Engineering

• Sustainable | Environmental Science

• Fintech | Business  

• Legal | more

Note: This part of the program is offered in-person, on campus (high schools or colleges), and online (remotely). Cash stipends available at some locations. ​​​​​Please check with program staff for more information.

Part 2:

​

HPAp Internship​​​​​​​​​ is the second step of the pre-apprenticeship program, which is hands-on work experience in different career fields, such as:

​​​

1. Digital Media Production Assistant (DMPA - track: creative)

2. Digital Production Management Assistant (DPMA - track: admin.)

3. Performance Art Teaching Assistant​​​​​ (offered different tracks):​​​​

      - Performing Arts Teaching Assistant (PATA) 

       - Digital Media Teaching Assistant (DMTA) 

       - Sports & Fitness Teaching Assistant (SPTA) 

       - Environmental & Sustainability Teaching Assistant (ESTA)

       - Business & Workforce Teaching Assistant (BWTA) 

          (assisting with AME-CPE or Youth in Small Business program)

Additions offerings coming to the program:

4. Performing Artist (film/TV/stage/podcast/etc.) 

5. Re/Entry Key OJT ("Re/e Key" - serving foster youth, justice

    involved, and others, entering or re-entering the workforce).

Note: All of our programs are offered as either a pre-apprenticeship or standalone courses with an internship or externship (residency) program attached. Many of our programs are paid while others are not. Our Residency programs are for those who have applied for and

been accepted into one of our Apprenticeship programs (outlined below).

APPRENTICESHIPS 

 

We are excited to announce the launch of our two apprenticeship programs (priority give to those who complete the HPAp pre-apprenticeship) which is open to qualified applicants and/or those who complete a course through one of our partners programs, such as those offered through the Off-Hollywood Studios (on-site or their Virtual Learning Lab), AJCC, Career OneStop, etc.

- Media Production Specialist (MPS)

- Creative Arts After-School Teacher (CAAST)

​

Our apprenticeships will equip participants with the training and certification needed for sustainable careers in the fields of arts, media & entertainment (AME), technology, and education. These programs include on-the-job training with college tuition covered for certification, when necessary.

​

If you're interested in digital media production (MPS) or teaching expanded learning (after-school) programs in one of the following areas: performing arts (K-6th), digital media (5th-12th), sports & fitness (K-5th), environmental science & sustainability (K-12th), AME-CPE or Youth in Small Business programs (both 6th-12th).

​

Additionally, during the first 90 days (12 weeks) of our apprenticeship programs, we provide a "residency" (externship) experience through our HTAp (Hollywood Teaching Assistant Program) or our HCAp (Hollywood Career Advancement Pathway), which offer hands-on experience that prepares participants for a career in production or arts education.
