HBAu and it's education partner Hollywood Performance Academy (HPA) have joined forces to offer
quality work-based training within the creative, environmental & arts education spaces.

​HBAu & HPA are helping create & build futures in arts, media, entertainment, sustainability & technology (FAMEStech) through the Virtual Learning Lab (v-lab) workforce training space. Here we are dedicated to empowering individuals, specifically youth, women, people of color, members of lgbtq+ and veterans, especially those from disinvested communities. We prepare the next generation of creators, educators, performers, and digital professionals for real careers in the entertainment and creative tech space.

Our training may be virtual but its hands-on, industry-aligned, and built for learners of every level, emerging artists, returning adults, youth transitioning into the workforce, and community members seeking new opportunities.

Production Management Assistant
Digital Media | Film | TV | Streaming
Launch your career in entertainment, behind the scenes with practical training in production coordination, scheduling/call-sheets, set etiquette, and digital production tools. Learn how real crews operate and gain the confidence needed to step onto set and contribute on day one.

Program length: 10-week (self-paced), 240 to 300 hours (approximately). Intern/externships available.

VAPA Teacher’s Aide
Arts-Based Instructional Support
Perfect for those who want to assist in teaching youth and classroom educators, especially in afterschool arts, science and sports/fitness programs. Gain core teaching-assistant skills in this course, from student supervision to lesson support, arts activity setup, behavior reinforcement, and professional classroom practices.

Program length: 10-week (self-paced), 140 to 200 hours (approximately). Externship available.

Acting Business (for beginners)
ABC's & 123s of Breaking into Professional Acting
​Learn about the professional world of acting in TV commercials and voice-over. Develop your craft with solid acting technique, audition prep, self-taping, and improvisation. This course helps new performers build confidence and build a foundation to prepare for opportunities in commercials & voice-over fields of the entertainment industry. Learn about casting companies and website to help you start working right away.

VAPA Program Facilitator
Visual & Performing Arts Leadership
Designed for future arts educators, facilitators, and youth program leaders. Learn how to guide creative lessons, manage groups, design arts-based activities, and support community arts programs in schools, after-school settings, and nonprofits.

Program length: 12-week (self-paced), 200
to 260 hours (approximately). Job placement assistance.

Device Management Technician
Mobile Tech Repair & Support
Enter one of the fastest-growing fields in tech. Train in mobile device diagnostics, repairs, software setup, cloud accounts, customer service, and device management. Great course to learn tech support, help desk, and/or independent smart device repair careers.

Becoming a Self-Producing Performer
Learn how to develop, shoot, edit, and publish your own creative work, from digital content for streaming on your social media pages to independent filmmaking.
